Pet Care Services and Pet Sitting Services - all about pet related services. | Rabbit insuranceIf your rabbit becomes ill, although providing it with the best care is your priority, there are also the financial implications to think about. If your rabbit gets ill or is injured, before you know it, the vets’ bills will have mounted up. But with the right rabbit cover, your insurance company will foot the bill. This is the main advantage of having rabbit insurance. What’s really handy about rabbit insurance is that, unlike with other pet insurance, you do not have to pay more to get it covered for life: This is normally part of the standard policy, meaning that if it develops an ongoing condition, such as arthritis, treatment would be covered for the rest of your rabbit’s life. However even though the rabbit is covered for life, there is usually a limit which veterinary costs can not exceed in order to make your policy pay out. However, this limit tends to be fairly generous, so the chances are that this will not be a problem for you. Do make sure you are happy with this amount before you settle on a policy. ![]() Other features that may be included in your rabbit’s insurance policy is a contribution towards boarding fees if you are hospitalised, as well as towards advertising if your rabbit goes missing or is stolen. When choosing a policy, do be aware that there may be an upper and lower age limit, as insurers do not want to cover rabbits which are considered to be at a greater risk. Moreover, make sure you familiarise yourself with the policy’s exclusions: Routine treatments for fleas, vaccinations and neutering and teeth problems, for example, will not usually be covered. If you don’t realise this, you will be in for an expensive shock!
